Production in the Waldviertel region
Since the founding of MATADOR, we have exclusively produced in Austria. The correct handling of natural wood, the production of our blocks, sticks, and planks, and quality management all take place in our factory in the Waldviertel region, in the very North of Lower Austria, in Waidhofen an der Thaya.
Quality and precision since 1899
MATADOR building blocks must be drilled the sticks must be milled to within a hundredth of a millimeter, so that our system works. With wood as a living material, this is a high standard, which we meet with special machines and our experienced team. MATADOR has for over 125 years. This long history alone demonstrates our continuously high standards for the quality of our toys.
Environmentally friendly manufacturing
A sophisticated process reduces the amount of wood waste generated during production to a minimum. Our factory itself is ecologically heated exclusively by this wood waste. For our suppliers of additional parts (e.g. packaging), we rely on regional companies to ensure the shortest possible transport routes. Additionally, the packaging is designed for long-term storage and is therefore not disposed of.
